What do you get when you mix 50 strangers, some seasoned artistic professionals, a dedicated team of volunteers, and 24 hours of blood, sweat and tears? You get Play in a Day!
Last year on Friday, October 12 the 50 people who had spent the past six to eight months raising funds in support of the Legal Information Society of Nova Scotia met at the Bella Rose Arts Centre to meet and greet their fellow thespians, audition for parts, receive assignments for lighting, sound, sets, props, etc. and read for the first time the script for Star Truck - A Space Oddity Revenge of the Clowns.
On Saturday, October 13 at 8:00 pm the lights were dimmed and an expectant crowd laughed through the first and only performance of the play. A good time was had by all participants and the audience and LISNS raised funds to continue their work providing Nova Scotians with information and resources on the law. The Burchells team is eagerly awaiting news of the 2012 Play in a Day script.
