For the past few years one or two people have participated in this worthy fundraiser in support of Prostrate Cancer Canada. In 2011 a team of Burchells lawyers and staff known as the "MoBros" shaved their faces clean and began the 30 day growth and campaign for sponsorship funds in support of prostate cancer research and awareness of mens health issues. The 2011 Burchells' Movember team raised $5,510.
Burchells' participation was part of a larger initiative within the legal community led by the Canadian Bar Association's Nova Scotia branch, the Nova Scotia Barristers Society, and the Nova Scotia Judiciary. All told, the Nova Scotia legal community worked together to raise more than $92,000 toward this worthy cause.
