Aisha is an associate with the firm’s transactions group and primarily practices Corporate & Commercial, Real Estate, and Wills & Estates. She has a track record of success in providing clients innovative solutions.
Aisha graduated with her LLB from Igbinedion University, and her BL from Nigerian Law School, both in Nigeria as well as her Masters in International Commercial Law from Brunel University in the United Kingdom.
She represents clients in the startup sector, providing advice on structuring, option plans, shareholder agreements and general legal corporate matters. She also provides support on corporate transactions, including debt and equity financings, mergers and acquisitions and reorganizations. She acts for parties in real estate transactions, including residential and commercial financing agreements and conveyancing. Aisha also advises on estate planning law including preparation of wills, enduring powers of attorney, and personal care directives.
Aisha is passionate about supporting community and charity groups, by working with them on initiatives that matter to them including intersectional feminism and racial equity.
Outside of the office, Aisha enjoys playing squash, traveling, and any activities involving her kids. She is an active volunteer with FTLC where she tutors foreign-trained lawyers taking the NCA exams. Aisha is also serving a term as Secretary for the Islamic Society of Nigerians where she helps new immigrants settle into Nova Scotia. She is the Treasurer of the Canadian Muslim Lawyers Association, Member at Large for the CABL - Nova Scotia Chapter, member of the Regulatory Credential Committee and the CPLED Appeal Committee with the Nova Scotia Barrister’s Society (NSBS).
