The partners of Burchells LLP, one of Atlantic Canada’s leading law firms, are pleased to announce the admission of Garnet E. Brooks into the partnership effective January 1, 2019.
“As a lawyer, Garnet has distinguished himself with his enthusiasm, commitment to clients and hard work,” said Burchells LLP co-managing partner, Cheryl A. Canning, Q.C. “He was ready for this important step in his career, and we know he will be a great addition at the partners’ table.”
Brooks’ practice includes an array of legal services tailored for the Atlantic Canadian entrepreneur, including business start-up assistance, the purchase and sale of business interests, real estate matters, and transactions of all kinds. He also assists First Nation organizations with economic development projects.
“It’s exciting to be one of the few, or perhaps the first, person of M’ikmaw heritage to become a partner at one of Atlantic Canada’s major private practice firms,” said Brooks.
“Burchells has given me a great platform to pursue the kind of work I want to do,” said Brooks. “My business clients come to me with a variety of legal needs, and Burchells has the practice depth to let me ensure those needs can be met right here. I’m honoured and thrilled to join the partnership.”
Burchells LLP is a Halifax-based, private practice law firm serving diverse clients throughout Atlantic Canada and beyond.
