Burchells LLP congratulates our counsel Naiomi Metallic, who recently was named one of the top 25 lawyers in Canada by Canadian Lawyer magazine. Naiomi has brought her passion for practicing law to the realm of academia where she is now educating young legal minds in Constitutional law, Aboriginal and Indigenous law, and diversity in legal education at Dalhousie’s Schulich School of Law. She is a dedicated advocate, in particular for Indigenous peoples, for whom she sees law as one of many tools that can be used to work towards reconciliation. Professor Metallic is a board member of the Indigenous Bar Association, the Chancellor’s Chair in Aboriginal Law and Policy, and a founding director of the Listuguj Aboqonmadultinech Community Foundation.
