Burchells summer student and soon-to-be articled clerk Cydney Kane was honoured this week with the 2019-2020 CBA-NS Schulich School of Law Scholarship. Congratulations Cydney!
The Canadian Bar Association (Nova Scotia Branch) Scholarship is awarded annually to a student who "demonstrates promise in achieving the objectives of the CBA." As she completes her third year of law school, Cydney has been a member of the Laskin Moot team, Vice-President Student Life of the Law Students’ Society, a founding executive member of the Dalhousie Prison Law Society, and a member of the Elizabeth Fry Society’s Board of Directors. Cydney is also co-coordinator of a pro bono project to assist women, trans and non-binary persons to apply for criminal record suspensions and changes to their vital statistics designations.
You're a busy woman, Cydney! Everyone at Burchells is so pleased to share in your success. We look forward to your return in June.
