Burchell Wickwire Bryson LLP (BWB) is proud to congratulate Jason Cooke, KC as he begins his term as President of the Canadian Bar Association, Nova Scotia Branch on September 1, 2026. 

A partner at BWB and Chair of the firm's Litigation Group, Jason is recognized as one of Atlantic Canada's leading advocates. His practice includes administrative and public law, Indigenous law, human rights, professional liability, and complex commercial litigation. He has appeared before courts and tribunals across Canada, including the Supreme Court of Canada, and received his King's Counsel designation in 2023. Throughout his career, Jason has been an active member of the CBA and has served in a number of roles. His contributions were recognized in 2024 when he received the CBA Nova Scotia President's Distinguished Service Award.

As President, Jason has identified member engagement, professional development, and support for an independent judiciary as key priorities for the year ahead.
