This prestigious designation recognizes David’s exceptional merit, integrity, and contributions to the legal profession in Nova Scotia.
David has built a distinguished career since being called to the Nova Scotia Bar in 1998, practicing extensively in civil litigation with a focus on disability defence, media and defamation, insurance matters, complex commercial disputes, professional liability, commercial tenancies, and estate litigation. He has appeared before all levels of court in Nova Scotia, the Federal Court, and the Federal Court of Appeal, and is highly experienced in mediation and alternative dispute resolution processes.
In addition to his litigation achievements, David has been repeatedly recognized by Best Lawyers in Canada for his excellence in Defamation and Media Law, Insurance Law, and Commercial Leasing Law, and has earned “Lawyer of the Year” honours in Nova Scotia three times: in 2014 for leasing litigation, and in 2022 and 2024 for media and defamation law.
