About Jason
Jason is a partner and chair of BWB’s Litigation Group. Jason's practice focuses on civil litigation and administrative law and he is currently designated by his peers as one of the "Best Lawyers in Canada" engaged in the practices of Administrative and Public Law, Aboriginal Law, and Corporate and Commercial Litigation. Best Lawyers in Canada recognized Jason as 2022 Lawyer of the Year for Administrative and Public Law in Halifax. He received his King’s Counsel designation in 2023.
He has been involved in a wide range of litigation matters including Aboriginal law litigation, professional liability claims, and commercial litigation disputes. A member of the bar in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador, he has appeared at the Supreme Court of Canada as well as Courts and tribunals in both of those provinces, including the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal and the Newfoundland and Labrador Court of Appeal. He currently serves as Chair of the Civil Litigation section of the Canadian Bar Association – Nova Scotia.
Jason’s administrative law practice includes judicial review, regulated professions, human rights, and planning matters. He has appeared before various administrative tribunals including the Muskrat Falls Inquiry, the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board and provincial and federal human rights Tribunals.
An active member of the profession and the community, Jason has served in various capacities with the Canadian Bar Association, including as a member of the national Board of Directors.
