Katie is a member of our Civil Litigation and Insurance Law service areas, where a significant portion of her practice involves acting on behalf of major insurance companies to defend automobile accident, property damage, occupiers’ liability, and product liability claims. Katie also works with members of the Aboriginal Law, Administrative Law, and Family Law groups.
Katie received her Bachelor's degree from Queen’s University. While at Queen’s, she swam competitively with the Queen’s University Varsity swim team and was a member of various on-campus organizations, including the Queen’s Native Students Association.
Katie obtained her law degree from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University. While at law school, Katie acted as a co-chair of the Weldon Environmental Law Students Society and worked as a research associate in the areas of international environmental law and aboriginal law. Katie also completed a clinical semester at Dalhousie Legal Aid Service and acted as a student trustee on the DLAS Board of Trustees, where she gained experience in client relations and management.
Outside of work, Katie enjoys weightlifting, running, participating in intensely competitive Scrabble matches with her family and friends, and listening to pop music.
