About Katie
Katie Short is an associate lawyer primarily practicing in our Corporate & Commercial Transactions, Real Estate, and Wills, Estates & Trusts groups.
Prior to law, Katie received her Bachelor of Arts from Dalhousie University and her Bachelor of Journalism from University of King’s College. Katie received her Juris Doctor from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University in 2021.
During law school, she volunteered with the Canadian Bar Association, East Coast Environmental Law, the Environmental Law Students’ Society, OUTLaw, the Dalhousie Feminist Legal Association, and the Dalhousie Journal of Legal Studies.
Katie also completed an internship at the Dalhousie Legal Aid Association, and was the recipient of the Elizabeth May Award for Environmental Service upon graduating in 2021.
Outside of law, she has volunteered with the Hague Humanity Hub (Netherlands), the Halifax Refugee Clinic, and ElderDog Canada. In her spare time, Katie enjoys travelling around Canada and abroad, learning new languages, and making and listening to all types of music.
