About James

A native of Fall River, Nova Scotia, James' practice focuses on organizations and individuals working through property transactions, commercial dealings, and estate planning.

James graduated from Dalhousie University with a Juris Doctor in 2020. In Law School, James was a Co-Chair of the Weldon Law Sports Committee, and frequently represented students against academic allegations with the Dalhousie Student Advocacy Service. While at Dalhousie, James was a recipient of the Alistair Fraser Award for Excellence in Contracts. 

James graduated from Mount Allison University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in History and First Class Honours with Distinction. He still enjoys visits to New Brunswick as much as he can.

James was a Summer Student and Articled Clerk at Burchells before joining the firm as an associate in 2021, after being called to the Nova Scotian Bar. James has joined the firm’s Transactions Group, with a particular focus on property law.

Outside of work, James can often be found on Nova Scotia’s beaches and hiking trails, or cheering on the Toronto Blue Jays or Montréal Canadiens.
