Gabriele Caras works with members of our Civil Litigation, Indigenous Peoples, and Municipal Law practice groups. 

Gabriele has an extensive background in arts and literature, earning her Bachelor of Arts at Bennington College in Vermont (2008), and her Master of Arts in English literature at McGill University (2017). She received her law degree from the Schulich School of Law (Dalhousie University), graduating with a Specialization Certificate in Aboriginal and Indigenous Law (2024).

During law school, Gabriele completed a Schulich Academic Excellence Internship with Nova Scotia Legal Aid (Halifax Appeals) and a clinical term with Dalhousie Legal Aid Service. She also worked as a research assistant, co-authoring a report on a workshop on inclusive human rights monitoring, and contributing to projects on inclusive research practices and tech-facilitated gender-based violence.

Outside of the office, Gabriele devotes much of her time to volunteering. She is a Head Coach for Special Olympics Dartmouth’s Rhythmic Gymnastics program and was recently awarded Special Olympics Dartmouth Coach of the Year. Gabriele also serves as Membership Secretary (North America) for the Barbara Pym Society and is a dedicated member of several local and long-distance book clubs.
