About Cydney
Cydney was born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She attended Mount Allison University and graduated with distinction in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science (Biology). She next attended Dalhousie University’s Schulich School of Law and graduated with her Juris Doctor in 2020.
While in law school, Cydney held the position of Vice President Student Life of the Dalhousie Law Students’ Society, coordinated a pro bono clinic to help women apply for criminal record suspensions, and worked part-time as a dance instructor. She received awards for her scholastic and extra-curricular achievements, including the Dalhousie IMPACT Award for Faculty Leadership, the Borden Ladner Gervais Professional Excellence Award, the Canadian Bar Association (NS Branch) Scholarship, and prizes in criminal, tort, and administrative law. In her final year, Cydney represented Dalhousie at the national Laskin Moot competition and spent a semester working at the Dalhousie Legal Aid Clinic.
Outside of work, Cydney is Chair of the Board for the Elizabeth Fry Society of Mainland Nova Scotia, sits on the Board of Directors for the Mount Allison Alumni Association, and volunteers with the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
